Gaza Death Toll Exceeds 1,300 After Truce Announcement

Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported on Monday, September 7, that Israeli strikes killed 7 people and injured 30 others, who were subsequently hospitalized, over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, despite the truce between Israel and Hamas, Israeli armed forces are conducting strikes on various areas of Gaza, particularly refugee gatherings and tent camps, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health also reports that since the truce came into effect until today, Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip have killed 1,352 people and injured 4,511 others.

According to the ministry’s data, from the start of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023 until today, at least 73,658 people have died in the Gaza Strip, and over 174,000 have been injured. Thousands of people may still be under the rubble of destroyed buildings.

According to the latest data from Reuters, despite the U.S.-brokered truce, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip continue. This includes September 6, when a series of strikes killed at least 4 people, including children. Reuters writes that more than 1,300 Palestinians have died since the truce was concluded. This data is also confirmed by Gaza’s Ministry of Health.

It should be recalled that Israeli attacks on Gaza began after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. This attack, according to Israeli authorities, killed approximately 1,200 people, and hundreds were taken hostage. Following this, Israel launched a large-scale military operation in the Gaza Strip.

However, after extensive destruction, a truce was concluded in October 2025, proposed by the U.S. and mediated by several other countries.

Nevertheless, as reported by media, Israel’s military operation in Gaza is still ongoing. Israel justifies this operation by the need to prevent attacks by Hamas and other armed Palestinian groups, while Hamas accuses Israel of violating the truce.

The United Nations has also called the humanitarian situation in Gaza “catastrophic” and the number of civilian casualties “alarming.” The World Health Organization and other human rights organizations have characterized the situation in Gaza as a severe humanitarian crisis and consider Israel’s blocking of humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza a violation of international law. Some countries and human rights advocates believe the impunity of war criminals is one of the reasons for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Strip.
